As a Senior Delivery Manager in Technology, you will be responsible for delivering high-value, complex initiatives across all areas of technology. You will work in collaboration with the business to understand their needs, drive results and deliver excellence. You will manage risks, issues and budget, and ensure that initiatives are delivered to schedule, budget, scope, and the highest quality standards. You will also work in a collaborative way with multiple third parties and matrix teams, and foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.

Role overview:

  • Take responsibility for the management of and successful execution of high-value Technology and Transformation initiatives up to £3m in value spanning across multiple business domains
  • Work in collaboration with initiative sponsors and key stakeholders within the business to ensure shared ownership for the delivery of outcomes
  • Lead cross-functional change into the organisation through the application of best-in-class project, programme and change management
  • Own stakeholder relationships and engage the business more broadly with change communications
  • Manage high performing delivery teams, with good knowledge management, who work in collaboration with the business
  • Manage the performance of the internal and external suppliers
  • Establish and sustain an effective governance framework to ensure the appropriate level of oversight and control is in place across your initiatives
  • Take ownership for key deliverables across the delivery lifecycle and apply appropriate methodologies to support the achievement of wider aims and objectives:
    • Own and maintain the comprehensive plan, risk & issue logs
    • Manage and communicate interdependencies clearly
    • Own and maintain the initiative budget and forecast
    • Update and maintain the governance and portfolio level reporting of your initiatives
    • Manage schedule and resource dependencies
    • Co-ordinate the definition and delivery of detailed business requirements through collaboration with the business, IT and other 3rd parties
    • Ensure that realistic and accurate estimates of costs, timescales, quality and resource requirements are agreed and proactively manage any deviations through to initiative closure (utilising formal change control and impact assessments where required).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4+yrs project or programme management experience
  • Experience of delivery in large complex organisations, such as FTSE250 companies or top tier professional services
  • Strong commerce / Retail implementation experience beneficial
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant project management methodologies, development life cycles e.g. Waterfall, Agile and Continuous Improvement
  • Expert knowledge of financial forecasting and budget management and control
  • Experience implementing projects utilising common enterprise-scale technology platforms such as Mulesoft, Oracle, Salesforce, and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in managing 3rd party vendors and working with outsourced partners
  • Proven ability to communicate to stakeholders at the appropriate level and build effective working relationships (will often need to have technical discussions with product owners to articulate design solutions or reconfirm requirements)
  • High level of resilience and extremely strong organisational skills required to manage multiple teams
  • Willing to be flexible to meet tight deadlines
  • Dedicated and motivated individual with drive to succeed and deliver results
  • Self-starter willing to hit the ground running
  • Effective influencer and negotiator, able to operate well in both structured and unstructured environments
