About the Role Experienced Electrical / Avionics Design Certification Engineer, with previous holder of technical check & CVE authorisation in this discipline, including EWIS. Familiar with UK CAA, EASA and FAA regulations associated with initial airworthiness and design certification. Knowledge of Bi-lateral Agreements / Working Arrangements advantageous. This permanent position is on-site based in Farnborough. £5000 Sign On Bonus
Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business or related field required or preferred. equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. . Position Purpose:Oversight of a variety of design and certification tasks associated with UK CAA, EASA and/or other FCAA (Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities) engineering projects. Primary responsibilities include assisting with the generating, reviewing and processing of engineering drawings, compliance data and documentation associated with design and certification activities, whilst providing technical support for the team.Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Oversee a variety of engineering tasks, with regards to all aspect of type design change and repair . Assisting with the creation, the amendment, and the processing of engineering data and drawings associated with design change and / or repairs, in direct support of Customer Supporting Engineering (CSE) projects and the associated governing regulatory authority and operational requirements . The technical checking and CVE authorisation of design change and / or repair related documentation package, in direct support of certification approval within the DOA, in accordance with UK CAA regulations . In addition, support for the generation of certification data for compliance demonstration against other regulatory authorities, such as EASA and FAA . All performed tasks are in accordance with Design Office Handbook (DOH) and / or Engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) . Participates with team work to achieve department goals, complete milestones and improve processes . Fully aware of the latest regulatory requirements and guidance materials, and their impact on design certification . Interacts with internal departments and customers to ensure transparent visibility and transfer of information . Actively contributes to continuous improvement activities in support of both DOA and CSE . Provide training, mentoring and guidance for design and certification tasks in support of people development .Additional Functions: Working in collaboration with Customer Support Engineering (CSE) for all engineering and certification related tasks in support of the Enterprise . Use initiative and experience to overcome any technical barriers or challenges . High level attention to detail, with professional integrity . Must maintain technical check abilities and CVE authorisation in at least one discipline area . Self-motivated to undertake tasks as assigned or delegated by HDO / HoA / Chief Engineer . Support aircraft surveys when required. . Deputize for HoA / Chief Engineer as necessary .Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: Industrial experience of AutoCad, CATIA and MS Office applications. Working experience of PLM and / or SmarTeam preferable. Fully conversant with UK CAA certification processes, including Part 21J DOA and associated regulations. Detailed knowledge with airworthiness requirements, such as JAR/CS 25, EU-OPS, Part-CAT, CFR Part 25 and ETSO. Solid understanding of EASA and FAA regulations, in conjunction with other NAA regulatory requirements. Previous working with regulatory bilateral agreements desirable. Ability to prioritise projects / workload and demonstrate flexibility to changing circumstances. Ability to multitask with variety of projects effectively and efficiently.
