A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Senior Design Engineer, your day will be dynamic and collaborative, focused on delivering high-quality primary engineering designs that align with our business strategy. You’ll work closely with the team lead to prepare detailed technical specifications, layouts, civil guide drawings, and loading calculations, while also reviewing equipment suppliers’ offers. Throughout the day, you’ll monitor engineering delivery progress, promptly escalating any issues to the team leader. Your strong collaboration and communication skills will be essential as you contribute positively to the team and drive project success. Join us and be a pivotal part of our engineering journey!
How You’ll Make An Impact
- To work with the team lead to deliver the Primary engineering design by adhering to the process and the Business strategy.
- To prepare technical specifications of Primary Equipment, design the layouts, civil guide drawings, loading calculations, Design Intend Document, etc.
- Reviewing and commenting on equipment suppliers’ offers.
- Monitoring of the engineering delivery progress as per the engineering programme of the project, escalating issues as and when required to the team leader.
- Collaboration and communication skills, ownership, and accountability are pivotal for this role. Makes a positive contribution to the team.

What You Bring
- Extensive design experience (minimum of 7-9 years) within the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry, preferably with some working in the UK market.
- You should have a Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Good knowledge of layout and Primary Equipment for substation projects up to 400kV.
- Fully conversant with the latest Transmission and Distribution standards & technologies.
- Fully conversant with Health & Safety standards (including CDM regulations) applicable to the design of High Voltage substations.
- Conversant of checking the primary design on 3D models.
