Senior Design Engineer
Nationwide, UK.

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Design Engineer to join our MSES team, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of major construction and infrastructure schemes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to develop both their technical expertise and project management skills within a growing centre of excellence.
Reporting to a Team Lead, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, with a particular focus on temporary works design. The role offers excellent scope for progression and increased responsibility within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver the design and checking of a wide range of temporary works schemes, from concept through to construction.
- Support the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Take ownership of moderately sized projects, managing outputs and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to innovative, practical engineering solutions across major UK infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate closely within the MSES team, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Actively working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
- Proven experience in the design of temporary works within civil engineering or construction projects
- Knowledge of structural and/or geotechnical analysis software
- Ideally experienced in geotechnically-focused temporary works, such as:
- Load-bearing piles.
- Earth retaining structures.
- Slope stability
- Dewatering systems
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage projects and stakeholders effectively.
- An initiative-taking, ambitious mindset with a desire to learn and progress.
