About the Company

A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Dungannon, specialising in the design and production of high-quality screening, recycling, and material handling equipment. Your New Role

As a Design Engineer, you will join an experienced and collaborative engineering team, playing a key role in the design and development of machinery from concept through to production. You will be responsible for delivering practical, cost-effective solutions while ensuring high standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software
  • Designing components and assemblies for screening and material handling equipment
  • Supporting product development from initial concept through to manufacture
  • Liaising with production, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure design feasibility
  • Conducting design calculations and engineering analysis
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within product design
  • Assisting with testing, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and health & safety requirements

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in a design engineering role within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
  • Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, or machinery design
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience within recycling, quarrying, or material handling sectors
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems or mobile machinery
  • Familiarity with design for manufacture (DFM) and lean principles
