About the Company
A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Dungannon, specialising in the design and production of high-quality screening, recycling, and material handling equipment. Your New Role
As a Design Engineer, you will join an experienced and collaborative engineering team, playing a key role in the design and development of machinery from concept through to production. You will be responsible for delivering practical, cost-effective solutions while ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software
- Designing components and assemblies for screening and material handling equipment
- Supporting product development from initial concept through to manufacture
- Liaising with production, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure design feasibility
- Conducting design calculations and engineering analysis
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives within product design
- Assisting with testing, validation, and troubleshooting
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and health & safety requirements

What You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a design engineering role within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
- Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, or machinery design
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable
- Experience within recycling, quarrying, or material handling sectors
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems or mobile machinery
- Familiarity with design for manufacture (DFM) and lean principles
