Senior Design Engineer - Temporary Works
Senior Design Engineer - Temporary Works (London / Remote)
About the Role
Working with a Temporary Works equipment business, your focus will be on Major Basement Projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing Major Project Basement propping (shoring) and Structural steel frames
- Mentor junior designers and foster professional growth in your team
- Coordinate with internal departments and subcontractors to meet deadlines on multiple jobs simultaneously
- Design and check temporary works schemes, ensuring all output is in accordance with:
- Company procedures
- CDM 2015 requirements
- Proactively work with clients to:
- Establish efficient sequencing
- Create value-engineered solutions

Essential Requirements

- Proven experience designing:
- Propping for major basement support schemes to Eurocodes and C760
- Proprietary equipment and steelwork
- Proven expertise in the design of steel frames (beams, columns, connections) to:
- Current Eurocodes
- Industry guidance documents
- Practical experience using frame finite element (FE) programs, such as:
- Robot
- Advance Design
- Other equivalents
- Experience with connection FE programs, including:
- IDEA Statica
- Other equivalents
- Strong background in the fabrication detailing of steelwork
