Senior Design Engineer – Wing Fuel Systems Installation
Airbus is seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Design Engineer to join their elite Wing Fuel Systems Installation team in Filton, Bristol.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Wing Fluid and Mechanical Systems Installation, this Senior Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting Airbus’s entire portfolio of commercial aircraft. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary engineer with advanced design expertise and technical leadership skills to shape the future of aerospace by collaborating with a diverse, high-performing team and interfacing with:
- Global customers
- Stakeholders
- Suppliers
Key Tasks & Accountabilities
As a senior team member, you will drive excellence across the entire design lifecycle, including:
End-to-End Design
- Lead complex engineering activities spanning:
- Cutting-edge conceptual design
- Optimisation and modification of current product lines
Operational & In-Service Support
- Provide critical technical support to:
- Global manufacturing sites
- In-service aircraft
- Continued airworthiness initiatives
Technical Governance
- Serve as a technical Approval and Authorization signatory for:
- Wing Fuel System designs
- Production non-conformances
Mentorship & Development
- Cultivate the next generation of engineering talent by:
- Supporting future technical signatories
- Expanding your airworthiness delegated authorities

Skills & Experience Required
Airbus seeks a collaborative technical leader with:
Proven Expertise
- Extensive experience as an Aerospace Design Engineer with:
- Deep knowledge of aircraft fuel systems installation
- Advanced systems mastery:
- Essential: CATIA V5/V6
- Highly desirable: Fluency in:
- Configuration & Product Data Management (PDM) toolsets
- PASS, DPDS, VPM, ICC
Technical Authority
- Demonstrable experience holding or ready to acquire:
- Technical Approval privileges
- Authorisation signatory status in aerospace
Adaptability & Leadership
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
- Flexibility, including:
- Occasional travel to UK and transnational manufacturing sites
