Senior Design Manager - Construction Team
Location: Essex with project location near Ipswich, Suffolk
Hours: Full-time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

About Kier Construction
Kier Construction are a leader in delivering public sector works across our Eastern South region. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team working on a circa £120m defence project in Suffolk. As a Senior Design Manager, you'll provide essential management, subject matter expertise and guidance to drive project success from tender through to delivery, adding real value through our Design and Build capability.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Design Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing and delivering design information in accordance with agreed programmes and schedules
- Ensuring appointed design consultants carry out their duties and comply with standards and briefs
- Assessing, mitigating and managing design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Chairing design meetings, writing reports and delivering presentations to stakeholders
- Ensuring design compliance with health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards and industry codes of practice

Requirements
This role of Senior Design Manager is great for you if:
- You hold a relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture with demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment
- You have experience of BIM level 2 projects and exceptional knowledge of the design process at both commercial and construction stages
- You possess an intimate understanding of the RIBA plan of work and up to date knowledge of current building regulations
- You have the ability to produce detailed presentations and feel comfortable delivering to internal and external stakeholders
- You hold a Full driving licence
