We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the team on a major healthcare development in North Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a 95 Bed Care Home, working alongside experienced project teams from pre-construction through to completion.
About the Role
Lead and manage the design process from tender stage through to project handover.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors and client teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Manage design programmes, technical approvals and statutory compliance.
- Drive buildability, value engineering and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support to site teams and ensure design information is delivered in line with programme requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.

Qualifications
Senior Design Manager or experienced Design Manager with a main contractor background.
Required Skills
- Proven experience delivering complex construction projects, ideally within healthcare, although experience in residential, education, commercial or care homes will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of design management, Building Regulations and technical coordination.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design packages within a fast-paced project environment.

Pay range and compensation package
Salary of £80,000–£95,000 plus an excellent benefits package. Permanent position with long-term career progression. Opportunity to work on a landmark healthcare project with one of the UK's leading contractors. Supportive team environment and exposure to high-profile projects.
