Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

In a typical week, you might be:

  • Leading multi‑disciplinary design delivery for complex data centre or engineering‑led projects – coordinating mechanical, electrical, public health, civil, structural and other disciplines to meet client priorities.
  • Acting as the lead project Design Manager, managing client stakeholder relationships and representing Black & White Engineering at key meetings.
  • Managing programme, scope, cost and risk – anticipating issues early, driving decisions, and keeping clear, accurate reporting for both clients and internal teams.
  • Coordinating global teams and subconsultants, ensuring localisation requirements are met and designs are practical to install and maintain.
  • Owning change management – identifying scope creep, drafting change notices, managing design fee changes and supporting fee proposals for Director sign‑off.
  • Driving QA/QC and H&S considerations through the design process, making sure our work meets our internal standards and regional regulations.
  • Coaching and line managing team members – from regular 1:1s to helping them access the right projects, training and exposure to grow.
