Job Title: Senior Design Researcher - User Science

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Design Researcher - User Science based in the United Kingdom.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced research professional to help shape the future of user-centered product development within a globally distributed technology environment. The role focuses on integrating user insights into decision-making processes across products, engineering initiatives, and organizational practices. You will combine qualitative and quantitative research methods to uncover meaningful insights and drive impactful change at scale. Beyond conducting research, you will contribute to building frameworks, operational processes, and a strong culture of evidence-based decision-making. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing cross-functional teams, and transforming user research into strategic business value.

Accountabilities:

  • Play a key role in advancing user-centered practices by generating actionable insights, improving research operations, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and informed decision-making.
  • Conduct comprehensive user research using qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including interviews, usability studies, surveys, experimentation, and data analysis.
  • Identify, synthesize, and advocate for user needs across multiple product areas and organizational initiatives.
  • Communicate research findings effectively through presentations, reports, storytelling techniques, and well-structured documentation systems.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, design, and process teams to integrate user insights into strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain scalable research operations frameworks, ensuring methodologies and findings are accessible, repeatable, and actionable.
  • Contribute to the evolution of user science practices by creating resources, training materials, and educational initiatives that promote user-centered thinking.
  • Build structured knowledge systems that organize research outputs and improve cross-team collaboration and insight sharing.
  • Support organizational change by embedding research-driven approaches into product development processes and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Engineering, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong academic background with a demonstrated commitment to learning and intellectual curiosity.
  • Extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative user research methodologies, with deep expertise in at least one area.
  • Proven ability to conduct user interviews, usability testing, surveys, experimentation, A/B testing, and data analysis.
  • Strong interest in technology, open-source ecosystems, and the ability to engage effectively with technical stakeholders.
  • Experience translating complex information into compelling visual narratives through information design, visual communication, or data storytelling techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor insights to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational capabilities, including experience creating structured knowledge repositories, research systems, and scalable processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy, organizational practices, or cultural transformation through research findings.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing user research projects and their measurable impact on products, services, or organizational outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in remote, international, and highly collaborative environments.
