Position Overview

We are seeking a highly creative and commercially minded Senior Fashion Designer to join our supplier design team. This role spans multi-product design across Casual Wovens, Soft Wovens, Tailoring & Jersey.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role, requiring frequent involvement across multiple departments and customer accounts (e.g., Nobodys Child, Oliver Bonas, Whistles). The selected candidate will drive trend-led, customer-focused product development, translating market insights into commercially successful collections. Customers rely on Spirit to set trends—meaning you must be at the forefront of innovation, timeless, and always aligned with the latest industry directions.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Trend Direction

  • Research and interpret global fashion trends—catwalks, street style, social media, and competitor activity.
  • Create seasonal trend boards, print directions, and tailored shape recommendations per customer’s requirements.
  • Source and develop fabric innovations and material solutions across varied customer budgets, balancing:
    • Commercial viability
    • Quality standards
    • Sustainability
    • Performance

Customer & Account Management

  • Present seasonal concepts and product ranges to retail buyers and design teams.
  • Build strong relationships with key accounts’ internal stakeholders (buying/design teams).
  • Respond flexibly to customer briefs, offering creative and commercially sound solutions under tight deadlines.

Sample Development

  • Collaborate with pattern cutters and sample machinists to ensure all designs, technical packs, and workbooks are accurately executed.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet customer deadlines, maintaining open communication, and ensuring high-quality samples reflect design intent.
