Who we are
AppyWay is the industry-leading SaaS solution decarbonising cities by empowering local authorities to digitally manage their kerbside and share kerbside data with fleets and drivers.
Our journey began with AppyParking, an app born from the frustration of finding and understanding parking on the streets of London. During the app's creation, it was clear that cities lacked shareable, machine-readable, standardised parking restriction data. So we built the UK's largest set of standardised kerbside data, in turn discovering the untapped potential beneath everyone's feet.
Today, we're Europe's leading intelligent kerbside platform, helping cities and drivers optimise operations and transition to net zero by uniting parking/loading maps, occupancy data, and cashless payments.
Our impressive client roster includes local authorities such as Edinburgh, Southwark, Lambeth, Haringey, Harrogate, Cambridgeshire, Cornwall, Dorset, Dublin and, more recently across the pond, New York City. Additionally, our apps and API are trusted by tens of thousands of drivers and fleets including Blue Badge innovators Motability Operations.
We are proud to have the support of top investors, including Hyundai Motor Company, Aviva Ventures, Mastercard and Esri. To date, we have raised over £20 million in funding, allowing us to continue building something big from the ground up.
If you're passionate about tangible solutions to help decarbonise the world, then AppyWay is the perfect place for you. Come and make your mark on a company you can call your own!
What you will be doing
Reporting to the VP of Product & Engineering, you'll join a small, experienced engineering team responsible for evolving AppyWay's backend platform and technical architecture.

- Developing platform capabilities that support kerbside, parking, payments, mapping and mobility products.
- Building data ingestion and transformation pipelines that make it easier to onboard and standardise new datasets.
- Developing reusable SDKs, shared libraries and platform components that improve consistency across our products.
- Modernising our cloud infrastructure and contributing to platform migrations and technology upgrades.
- Designing and supporting cloud-native services hosted within Microsoft Azure.
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and engineering automation to improve reliability and developer productivity.
- Contributing to AI-powered workflows including document processing, data extraction and intelligent automation.
- Working with the Security Manager to implement technical controls supporting ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
- Collaborating with Product and Engineering to translate customer problems into scalable technical solutions.
- Contributing to architectural discussions, technical design and engineering best practices.
- Supporting production services by improving reliability, observability, performance and operational resilience.
- Mentoring other engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
