Senior Developer

Senior Front-End Developer (SFED)

Tribal is a creative force that blends strategy, design, and technology, seeking a talented and experienced Senior Developer to elevate our London-based team. As a Senior Front-End Developer, you’ll blend creative insight with technical expertise to shape bold digital experiences, from marketing sites to interactive web applications.

In this collaborative role, you’ll work alongside a Creative & Tech team—sharing solutions, refining estimates, and embracing diverse front-end technologies including React, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript while engaging with content management systems.

Hybrid Work Expectations

To foster long-term success, we require new hires to work in our office at least 3 days per week.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop web applications following the latest web standards and leading-edge front-end technologies
  • Collaborate across Creative, Business, Tech, and QA teams to ensure solutions meet performance and user requirements (mobile & desktop)
  • Own the development of web applications, ensuring alignment with the technical architecture and design guided by the Tech Lead
  • Implement user and business requirements, composed of multiple development activities
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate project documentation adhering to best practices
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex issues in existing web applications
  • Proactively support policy improvements and mentor junior team members to enhance performance and technical skills

Essential Requirements

Experience & Technical Proficiency

  • 5+ years as a front-end developer, with deep proficiency in React and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Expert understanding of modern CSS (CSS Modules, Styled-Components), alongside strong command of:
    • Semantic HTML, responsive design principles, and performance optimisation
  • Experience with:
    • Modern build tools (e.g., Vite, Webpack)
    • Git and CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions/Workflows)
  • Testing expertise:
    • Unit, integration, and e2e tests using Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright
  • Adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and SEO best practices
  • API integration and backend communication experience
  • Comfortable with data formats (JSON, REST, GraphQL), authentication, and secure data handling
  • Familiarity with frontend component libraries or design systems
  • Experience with Supabase or equivalent backend-as-a-service platforms
  • State management knowledge (XState, Zustand)
  • Cloud experience (AWS+, Azure)
  • Mentoring experience for junior developers
