The Role
JOB DESCRIPTION
The IT division delivers the Technology and Services that enable the Canopius Group to achieve its strategic and business goals.
The Technology team is on a journey to provide a flexible and iterative software delivery function to all areas of the business – allowing us to respond quickly and innovatively to internal user requirements and therefore provide external market advantage.
As a Senior Developer, you will lead collaboration with business units to understand their challenges and provide technical leadership across delivery teams to design and build scalable solutions.
In addition to hands-on development, you will own platform architecture, governance, environment strategy, and ALM processes, ensuring solutions are delivered in a controlled, secure, and sustainable way across all environments.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Power Platform solutions.
- Define and own solution architecture patterns and integration strategies.
- Provide governance and technical oversight across all platform implementations.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.
Core Development Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise enterprise-scale model-driven applications.
- Lead development of Dataverse customisations including plugins and workflows.
- Implement scalable data models and performance optimisation strategies.
- Ensure reuse through shared components and design patterns.
ALM, Environments & Deployment
- Own and evolve ALM strategies across all environments.
- Build and enforce CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Manage solution versioning, packaging, and release governance.
- Define environment provisioning and access control strategies.

Power Platform Governance & Centre of Excellence (CoE)
- Lead the Power Platform CoE.
- Define and enforce governance standards and policies.
- Implement governance tooling such as CoE Starter Kit.
- Monitor and manage platform risks and compliance.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Engage with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and governance forums.
- Mentor developers and promote best practices.
- Bridge development and governance to ensure balance of agility and control.
Skills
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale Power Platform solutions.
- Deep understanding of Dataverse architecture and solution design.
- Proven experience implementing ALM and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of governance, DLP policies, and security models.
- Experience leading or contributing to a Power Platform CoE.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, working effectively across Technology, business teams, governance forums, and delivery partners.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to analyse complex issues and identify practical, scalable solutions.
- Ability to mentor and support other developers, promoting knowledge sharing, best practice, and continuous improvement.
