Senior Developer
Senior Software Developer
Location: United Kingdom | Remote
The Developer is responsible for the overall performance of the product by applying software engineering principles to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software. This role ensures the timely delivery of high-quality software within release timelines and guidelines.
Role Responsibilities — Here's What You'll Do
- Develop complex code based on functional specifications, completing logic and algorithm design in alignment with established standards.
- Translate and analyse software requirements into design specifications, ensuring consistent adherence throughout the development lifecycle.
- Perform complex peer code reviews and provide insight on the broader impact of software changes across the product.
- Lead and influence team standards, processes, and events, including:
- Planning
- Work estimation
- Solution demos
- Implementation design discussions
- Create and apply automated tests and testing principles to software changes, including:
- Unit tests
- Continuous integration practices
- Mentor, coach, and provide constructive technical feedback to team members, supporting their growth and overall team performance.
Role Essentials
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- Significant experience (minimum 5 years) with:
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Docker
- Terraform
- Kubernetes
- AWS
- Azure
- Solid foundation in:
- Data structures
- Algorithms
- Software design principles
- Experience with:
- Build environments
- Delivery pipelines
- Continuous software delivery practices
- Experience with:
- Test automation
- Continuous integration tools
- Software application testing methodologies

Desirable (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience working in Windows/Linux development environments using open-source tools and platforms.
- Proficiency in:
- JavaScript
- Python
- Public contributions to Open Source projects.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Influence and motivate team members and business partners toward shared goals.
- Establish rapport, gain trust, and drive consensus across teams and stakeholders.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization with discretion and tact.
Remuneration
- Salary: £56,695 – £70,078 annually
