Rockstar is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to support our Creator Platform team, including the industry-leading FiveM and RedM multiplayer modification platforms.
This full-time, permanent, in-office position (based at Rockstar’s London studio) focuses on empowering a global community of creators, server owners, and developers to maximize their potential on our platforms.
What We Do
Rockstar’s Creator Platform Team delivers a robust technological foundation for player-driven content. Together with Cfx Marketplace, we empower GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 creators to:
- Build and share custom game modes, scripts, and assets
- Run fully customizable, dedicated servers
- Develop content with a variety of scripting languages
We provide curated documentation, tutorials, and learning resources—helping creators across the globe understand platform capabilities, best practices, and APIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate and advocate: Promote the use of FiveM and RedM tools to ensure creators have a clear path to success.
- Driving DX improvements: Champion developer experience (DX) enhancements by prioritizing community feedback and collaborating with Developer Relations.
- Build creator enrichment programs: Develop initiatives to nurture the next generation of GTA/RDR2 modders and script developers.
- ** schizophrenia documentation archive**: Craft, refine, and maintain maturity-focused developer resources, including:
- Clear and comprehensive documents, tutorials, and API references
- Step-by-step guides for scripts, game modes, maps, and other content creation
- Technical documentation tailored for server owners and modders
- Technical translation: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to transform complex platform updates into:
- Changelogs
- Release notes
- Migration guides (for new features and breaking changes)
- Deep review and refinement of existing docs, ensuring they remain clear, accurate, and up-to-date as the platform evolves.

Requirements
- Experience: Six or more years in technical writing, developer documentation, or related roles—preferably within gaming or software development.
- Communication: Strong ability to explain intricate technical concepts in simple, engaging, and well-structured writing.
- Technical fluency: Comfort with at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Lua, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#).
- Tooling mastery: Experience with documentation systems like:
- Markdown
- Static site generators
- Wikis
- Docs-as-code workflows (e.g., Git-based documentation)
- Learning agility: Quickly adapt to APIs and developer tools.
- Writing prowess: Proven ability to create tutorials, API references, or developer-focused guides.
- Collaborative mindset: Experience working across engineering, product, developer relations, and community teams.
- Version control fluency: Comfortable using Git and contributing to documentation repositories.
- Developer advocate mentality: A relentlessly user-centric mindset, always prioritising the creator’s journey.

Nice-to-Haves (Experience with any of these will be a strong bonus)
- Previous work with FiveM, RedM, or GTA modding communities.
- Hands-on experience writing public-facing documentation for game engines, modding frameworks, or other relevant tech.
- Experience with video tutorials, interactive code samples, or other multimedia learning materials.
- Understanding of Creator workflows (e.g., UGC pipelines, asset scaling in modding).
- Background in open-source contributions or community collaboration.
