Senior Development Coach – Future Gymnastics
About the Role
The Senior Development Coach position at Future Gymnastics is a vital new opportunity. This role involves delivering high-quality coaching, supporting club operations, and championing growth within the gymnastics community.
Future Gymnastics is dedicated to fostering confidence, fun, and lifelong participation in gymnastics through an engaging and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality coaching sessions across Weekly Classes, After-School Clubs, Camps, and Clinics, ensuring a fun yet structured experience for all participants.
- Acting as a Head Coach to lead teams by example, prioritising the safety, welfare, and well-being of athletes and staff.
- Leading key activities such as club events and competitions, including planning, rehearsals, and on-site facilitation.
- Taking a proactive role in developing the coaching workforce, sharing expertise, and nurturing team growth.
- Observing sessions with a quality assurance mindset, identifying opportunities for improvement and suggesting actionable enhancements.
- Expanding club engagement by:
- Distributing promotional materials (e.g., leaflets) in local schools.
- Directing gymnasts toward supplementary activities and workshops.
- Delivering taster sessions and assemblies to attract new members.
- Serving as a positive role model for the Young Leaders Programme, working closely with the Bright Futures Lead to develop the next generation of coaches.
- Collaborating with the Logistics Lead to ensure equipment and materials are prepared, distributed, and secured promptly.
- Taking ownership of the Gym Schedule as a key organisational responsibility.
- Performing any additional duties as reasonably required by the company.

Supporting Roles & Relationships
- Events & Competitions: Active participation in planning, execution, and post-event follow-ups.
- Coaching Workforce Development: Mentoring colleagues and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Logistics & Operations: Coordination of resources to ensure smooth activity delivery.
- Community Growth: Outreach to schools, parents, and local networks to promote Future Gymnastics.
Job Requirements
Essential Criteria
- A Level 2 Gymnastics Coaching Qualification.
- A full, clean UK driver’s license.
- At least 2 years of coaching experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to organise, motivate, and lead team members.
- A confident, outgoing, and approachable personality.
- Sharp attention to detail in all aspects of coaching and operations.
- Dependable, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Risk-aware, with confidence in escalating critical information.
- Strong passion for supporting and improving colleagues.

Desirable Criteria
- A Level 1 Trampoline Coaching Qualification.
- First Aid Training.
- Safeguarding certification and a relevant background clearance.
- Line management experience.
- 5+ years of coaching at a high-performance level.
- Experience leading Squads and Display Teams.
- A background in competitive events and successfully staging competitions.
