Senior Development Engineer (M/F/D)

Semiconductor Device Engineer – GaN Power Devices (Wide-Bandgap)

About the Role

Our client is a global semiconductor innovator, pioneering next-generation Gallium Nitride (GaN) power technologies that are transforming sectors such as AI infrastructure, renewable energy, industrial automation, data centres, electric mobility, and advanced robotics.

This opportunity provides the chance to develop and optimise advanced GaN power devices, converting cutting-edge device physics into scalable, real-world products while working on complex technical challenges, shaping future technology roadmaps, and collaborating with industry-leaders in device development, process technology, and product engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimisation of advanced GaN power device architectures
  • Define performance goals, balancing trade-offs between efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Drive TCAD simulation, modelling, and device design to support technology and product development
  • Analyse device behaviour, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, robustness, and performance
  • Collaborate closely with process integration, characterisation, reliability, and product engineering teams
  • Support the industrialisation of new device concepts and technologies
  • Contribute technical expertise to strategic roadmaps for both technology and product innovation
  • Lead multidisciplinary technical projects and drive innovation in a global R&D environment
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team growth

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
