Your Role

As a Senior R&D Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing semiconductor technology. You’ll lead the design, analysis, and development of systems, components, or products. Your technical expertise will guide decision-making, ensuring best practices and innovative solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical, electronics, and power control systems, with a willingness to develop knowledge in chemical and mechanical processes. The role includes hands-on laboratory development as well as theoretical ability to model and conceptualize solutions.

Elevate semiconductor system technology by leading the development of innovative systems and components. As a Senior R&D Engineer, your expertise will significantly impact vacuum and abatement processes as well as gas/material recovery, promoting superior performance and sustainability.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Creativity and Problem Solving: Develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems, optimizing system efficiency and performance.
  • Sustainability Focus: Design systems that reduce energy consumption and environmental impact.
  • Design, and Testing: Manage the design, simulation, testing, and validation of systems, ensuring compliance with rigorous standards.
  • Verification and Validation (V&V): Implement thorough verification and validation processes to confirm that designs fulfill all operational and safety requirements.
  • Detailed Engineering Documentation: Assist in the generation of P&IDs and PFDs for systems, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with overall system design.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership: Encourage innovation and ensure alignment within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communication and Ownership: Communicate technical details and advancements effectively, showcasing a strong sense of responsibility and ownership over projects.
  • Innovation and IP Generation: Lead the development of groundbreaking solutions and contribute to the creation of intellectual property, ensuring the company maintains technological leadership and market competitiveness.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or applied physics.
  • Over 5 years of experience in system design and development.
  • Familiarity with hardware prototyping and testing.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain P&IDs and PFDs for complex systems.
  • Solid foundation in modelling, measurement techniques, and instrumentations.

Your Location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our GTC office in Burgess Hill, UK.
