Senior Development Manager
London, UK (Hybrid)
£80,000 - £100,000 per annum
Our client is a renewable energy developer building out a substantial pipeline of solar and battery storage projects across the UK, and they are looking for a Senior Development Manager to take schemes from origination through to shovel-ready. The role exists because the pipeline now includes utility-scale and NSIP-scale projects that need senior, end-to-end ownership. You would carry projects through land, planning, grid and consenting, and own the decisions that get them built.
The Company
Our client is a solar and battery storage developer moving towards an IPP model, so the projects you develop are ones the business intends to own and operate for the long term, not simply sell on. They foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, with a real focus on professional development and knowledge-sharing as the team scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
