About the Role
Do you want to lead ambitious housing developments that genuinely make a difference?
We’re seeking a Senior Project Manager (Housing Development) to drive high-value, complex schemes across the UK, strengthening our specialist housing provision. This pivotal role involves overseeing projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality accommodation that enables independent, fulfilling lives for the people we support.
Location: Full-time permanent role requiring regular attendance (minimum once a week) at our head office in Widnes. Daily commute within an hour is preferred.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a senior leader in our Group Projects Team, you will:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery—from feasibility and land acquisition through construction and handover.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timely, budget-aligned, and high-quality outcomes.
- Develop robust, “lender-ready” business cases, including whole-life cost and risk analysis.
- Oversee procurement, contractor performance, and professional consultants for seamless execution.
- Maintain strong project governance, reporting, and compliance safeguards.
- Build and manage stakeholder relationships (architects, engineers, contractors, legal teams).
- Collaborate with operational teams to align developments with the needs of people we support.
- Identify and mitigate risks, aligning with planning, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement, capturing lessons and best practices across the development portfolio.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience in housing development or complex property projects, particularly within housing associations, developers, or similar organisations.
- Strong track record in delivering capital-funded schemes (not limited to refurbishments or minor works).
- Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of construction, procurement, and contract management.
- Commercial and financial awareness, including investment appraisal experience.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under competitive timelines.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills.
