Senior DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in United Kingdom.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative, fully remote engineering team responsible for building and scaling the infrastructure behind a globally used digital platform. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in improving reliability, performance, and automation while enabling development teams to deliver software efficiently and securely. You'll work with modern cloud-native technologies, optimize large-scale distributed systems, and help shape infrastructure that supports millions of users worldwide. The role offers significant ownership, close collaboration with international engineering teams, and the chance to solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. Accountabilities

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize large-scale production infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Monitor systems proactively, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines, enabling development teams to deliver software quickly, safely, and consistently.
  • Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to improve infrastructure, streamline deployment processes, and support application delivery.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions while promoting automation across operational workflows.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning, operational support, and on-call responsibilities to ensure stable production environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of monitoring, logging, and observability platforms to improve operational visibility and incident response.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience managing large-scale distributed production environments.
  • Strong expertise in Linux system administration, including networking, storage, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and familiarity with traditional on-premises infrastructure.
  • Proven experience deploying and operating applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code methodologies and automation practices.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python to automate operational tasks.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for production environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within distributed international teams while demonstrating ownership, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.
  • Experience with GeoRouting, software development, or large-scale global infrastructure is considered an advantage.
