Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Cambridge Way of Working: Office based or Hybrid (attend office 1-2 days per week) Hours of work: 40 hours per week Length: Full-time / Permanent Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum (DOE)

The Opportunity: We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Internal Infrastructure & Tooling team. You will be working on meaningful infrastructure problems that directly impact engineering productivity. You'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the platforms and tooling that our engineering teams rely on every day. This is a hands-on role with ownership over mature and emerging systems.
Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and on premises hardware, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines, enabling engineering teams to develop their products with confidence. Manage and harden Linux-based systems across our internal estate. Develop internal tooling and automation to improve developer experience and operational efficiency. Collaborate with security stakeholders to embed best practices into infrastructure and deployment workflows. Contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews. Mentor other engineers and lead by example for infrastructure standards across the organisation
Your Experience Essential: Strong knowledge of Linux administration, networking, and troubleshooting in production environments. Several years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering role. A solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and modern deployment practices.

Desirable: Experience writing and managing Terraform modules and state at scale. Comfortable scripting and building tooling in Python. Experience designing and maintaining pipelines in GitLab CI/CD. Familiarity with infrastructure security practices such as secrets management, vulnerability scanning. Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker). Familiarity with observability tooling (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
