Senior DevOps Engineer Azure IaC AKS SaaS

Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure IaC, AKS, SaaS)

Location: Reigate / Hybrid (WFH with 2 days in-office per week)

Salary: Up to £100k + bonus


This is an opportunity to take real ownership of cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering within a globally recognised FinTech.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will:

  • Design and build scalable, secure Azure infrastructure, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Develop reusable OpenTofu / Terraform modules for environment provisioning.
  • Implement automated CI/CD pipelines for product teams.
  • Improve platform reliability, performance, and developer productivity through modern DevOps practices.
  • Collaborate on complex infrastructure challenges, solving them with automation.
  • Work hands-on with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerisations (preferably Azure Container Apps).
  • Apply cloud observability (logging, tracing, metrics, monitoring, and alerting).

About the Role

Location / Work Arrangements:

  • Hybrid model: 2 days in the Reigate office (required commute slot), 3 days from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive adoption of OpenTofu / Terraform & Pulumi for cloud provisoning.
  • AKS & Containers: Lead optimisation of Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Container Apps.
  • CI/CD: Build and refine automated pipelines for efficiency and reliability.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Ensure robust logging, metrics, and alerting.
  • Scripting: Develop automation scripts using PowerShell or C# (.Net).
  • Mentorship: Provide expertise and mentorship to teams.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer in an Azure-centric environment.
  • Strong knowledge of AKS (Azure Kubernetes) and container orchestration.
  • Hands-on expertise with IaC tools, preferably OpenTofu, Terraform, and Pulumi.
  • Experience building and optimising CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of cloud observability (log management, distributed tracing, and alerting).
  • Familiarity with Azure Container Apps.
  • Strong scripting and coding skills in PowerShell or C# (.Net).
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on collaborative, scalable solutions.
  • Comfortable in a mentorship role, guiding junior engineers.
