About The Role
We are currently partnering with a forward-thinking consulting client who is seeking to expand their DevOps capabilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned DevOps professional to take on a technical leadership position within a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering and optimizing environments that support the development, testing, and deployment of software features. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement automation, streamline processes, and enhance the overall efficiency of the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in delivering environments within the IT sector, particularly in DevOps roles.
- Strong understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and practices.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools and techniques.
- Experience in setting up, administering, and managing Linux-based environments.
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud platforms, including public and private cloud offerings.
- Knowledge of security, performance, and resilience testing tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives.
- Willingness and eligibility to undergo UK security clearance.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical leader within the DevOps team, guiding the delivery of environments and supporting tools.
- Configure and manage tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and SonarQube to facilitate automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
- Create and maintain automated processes that enable development teams to implement continuous integration and continuous testing strategies.
- Automate the provisioning of serverless integrations between different systems utilizing their APIs.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Implement infrastructure as code practices to enable repeatable and reliable environment setup.
- Develop and maintain configuration management scripts and tools to streamline environment provisioning.
- Oversee container setup, hosting, and orchestration to support development and testing activities.
- Collaborate with Agile and Lean teams to promote efficient software delivery methodologies.
- Maintain and administer Linux-based environments, ensuring stability and security.
- Participate in security assessments and implement best practices to safeguard systems and data.
