Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure) Newcastle to £130k

Are you a technologist DevOps Engineer with a strong academic record of achievement?

You could be progressing your career at a scaling Fintech, building sophisticated software for the investment management industry. Partnering with leading Hedge Funds and financial institutions, the company is developing technology that combines modern software engineering with complex data, analytics and financial systems.

As a DevOps Engineer you will build, automate and operate the infrastructure that underpins a sophisticated technology platform, you'll be working on challenging engineering problems, combining software development, automation, cloud infrastructure and platform reliability in a highly collaborative environment.

You'll take ownership of CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, monitoring and operational tooling, helping to improve developer productivity, platform resilience and deployment automation. Working across both Windows and Linux environments, you'll leverage technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell and modern monitoring platforms to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues in brand new Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday), working hours 0900-1800 with some flexibility. The offices are well equipped and offer fantastic views across the City and the local countryside, many employees walk or cycle in (onsite showers available!).

About you:

  • You have an academic record of achievement, minimum 2.1 at BSc from a top tier university, Computer Science or similar technical / scientific discipline, backed by A A B grades at A-level
  • You have expertise with DevOps within an Azure environment
  • You have a software engineering background (any programming language, C# or Python preferred) and strong scripting skills (PowerShell preferred)
  • You have experience with Docker Orchestration via Kubernetes
  • You have experience with public cloud technologies; Azure, AWS, GCP
  • You have a strong knowledge of modern software engineering best practices
