About the Role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help design and operate the cloud infrastructure powering our Gaming Product Portfolio.
In this role, you will build, automate, and optimise our Google Cloud environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency. You will collaborate closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Security teams to solve complex technical challenges and continuously improve our platform.
This position is ideal for a hands-on senior engineer who wants to influence architecture decisions, mentor others, and contribute to a modern, cloud-native environment.
Your Mission
Your mission is to design, automate, and maintain reliable cloud platforms that support enterprise-grade systems and applications.
- Ensure production environments are secure, performant, scalable, and resilient, while continuously improving delivery processes and operational standards.
- Act as a role model sharing knowledge, raising technical standards, and contributing actively to architectural discussions and cross-team initiatives.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities, drive technical enhancements, and partner with Architecture to design scalable, maintainable, and resilient systems.
- Mentor team members through collaborative peer reviews and design discussions, contribute to technical decision-making with clear and well-reasoned proposals, and ensure technical solutions remain aligned with business objectives and product priorities.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure primarily in Google Cloud Platform, incorporating AWS where it adds value.
- Own the automation of infrastructure using Terraform and scripting in Python and Bash.
- Design and manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads using Docker for reliability and performance.
- Own CI/CD and GitOps pipelines end to end within the SDLC using GitLab CI/CD and ArgoCD, including Runners, Merge Requests, branching strategies, environments, release pipelines, and Roadie where applicable.
- Design logging, monitoring, and alerting using Prometheus and Grafana to strengthen observability.
- Own DNS, SSL/TLS lifecycle, CDNs, VPN configuration, and core networking design.
- Define and enforce security controls, firewall policies, access management, and compliance alignment for the infrastructure under their ownership.
- Lead disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and business continuity efforts for their area.
- Optimize cloud expenditure across GCP and AWS through efficient resource design.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and own resolution end to end.
- Lead incident resolution during on-call rotations.
- Mentor engineers on infrastructure standards and operational procedures.
- Anticipate architectural risks and propose forward-looking solutions for the team's infrastructure roadmap.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
