We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and implement the production cloud infrastructure for a new platform - Contract role for an initial 3 month period (OSIR35) in the Fintech industry.
Working closely with the development team and Head of Security, designing building and delivering a secure, scalable and production-ready cloud platform. This role provides scope to define the cloud architecture, deployment approach and operational tooling.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing production and staging environments in the cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Advising on hosting architecture and infrastructure choices.
- Building containerised environments Docker, Kubernetes or ECS.
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code Terraform, Pulumi, CDK or similar.
- Creating CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment.
- Establishing release, rollback and deployment processes.
- Setting up monitoring, logging and alerting.
- Designing secure cloud infrastructure.
- Supporting security best practice, GDPR considerations and penetration testing readiness.
- Producing documentation, runbooks and handover materials.

Skills and Experience required
- Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design, automation and deployment.
- Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams and external partners.
- Hands-on experience with Web3 or blockchain development would be highly advantageous.
- Experience within the fintech sector would be advantageous.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

- Node.js and TypeScript environments.
