We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and implement the production cloud infrastructure for a new platform - Contract role for an initial 3 month period (OSIR35) in the Fintech industry.

Working closely with the development team and Head of Security, designing building and delivering a secure, scalable and production-ready cloud platform. This role provides scope to define the cloud architecture, deployment approach and operational tooling.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing production and staging environments in the cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Advising on hosting architecture and infrastructure choices.
  • Building containerised environments Docker, Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Implementing Infrastructure as Code Terraform, Pulumi, CDK or similar.
  • Creating CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment.
  • Establishing release, rollback and deployment processes.
  • Setting up monitoring, logging and alerting.
  • Designing secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Supporting security best practice, GDPR considerations and penetration testing readiness.
  • Producing documentation, runbooks and handover materials.

Skills and Experience required

  • Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design, automation and deployment.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams and external partners.
  • Hands-on experience with Web3 or blockchain development would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience within the fintech sector would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
