Role Summary
Aubay UK is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer – Trading & Supply to join a high-performing global team supporting business-critical derivatives trading platforms and production environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and resilience of trading systems, working closely with traders, developers, infrastructure teams, and technology vendors. This is a hands-on position requiring strong operational support, troubleshooting, automation, and engineering capabilities within fast-paced trading environments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting exchange-traded derivatives platforms, market data systems, FIX connectivity, and front-office trading applications, with a proven ability to manage incidents, improve platform reliability, and deliver robust technical solutions that support continuous trading operations.
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years' experience within Commodity Trading, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking environments
- Strong knowledge of exchange-traded derivatives and the full trading lifecycle
- Experience supporting front-office trading applications and production trading environments
- Strong FIX protocol engineering and connectivity experience
- Experience with market data distribution platforms and market data providers
- Strong scripting and development skills using Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL, or similar technologies
- Experience with application deployment, production support, incident management, and operational excellence
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within complex trading environments
- Experience working with global futures exchanges, trading platforms, and vendor integrations
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and liquidity aggregation platforms
- Knowledge of OMS/EMS platforms such as TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, or TradingScreen
- Experience supporting real-time market data distribution technologies
- Knowledge of time-series data platforms such as kdb, Shakti, or similar technologies
- Understanding of TCP, Multicast networking, and messaging technologies
- Experience with exchange and vendor certification processes
- Knowledge of algorithmic trading environments and related regulatory requirements
- Experience working within global DevOps and on-call support models

Roles and Responsibilities
- Support and maintain global derivatives trading production environments
- Monitor critical trading workflows and drive improvements in platform stability and resilience
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure, connectivity, and market data issues
- Respond rapidly to production incidents to minimise business impact and maintain trading continuity
- Work closely with developers, traders, infrastructure teams, and vendors to resolve issues and deliver improvements
- Serve as a subject matter expert for trading systems, market connectivity, and production support initiatives
- Support application deployments, upgrades, and production releases following DevOps best practices
- Manage and support FIX connectivity with exchanges, brokers, and third-party vendors
- Support market data distribution platforms and ensure timely delivery of real-time trading data
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including platform monitoring, reliability, and performance optimisation
- Participate in a global on-call support rota and provide out-of-hours production support when required
- Maintain strong operational controls, documentation, and compliance with governance standards
- Contribute to engineering backlogs, technical debt reduction, and platform modernisation initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, supportable, and business-focused solutions
