Job Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Platform Engineer with a deep knowledge of platform engineering, DevOps practices, and the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with modern tools and environments in public and private cloud in the delivery of our feature and roadmap items.
You will join our skilled team of Platform and DevOps engineers who have a passion for developer experience, high-quality solutions, and enablement through self-service. Our team plays a meaningful part in enabling the Central Engineering Software Group to develop and improve the software ecosystem around Arm's next generation of applications processors.
We seek proactive individuals with experience and understanding of automation tooling, containerization, CI pipelines, cloud platforms, and system administration to provide automated build, test, and development solutions and support internal and external software engineering communities!
Responsibilities
As a Senior Platform and DevOps Engineer in the Engineering Infrastructure team, you will handle a diverse and multifaceted set of responsibilities. You will design, implement, operate, and support one or more of our developer platforms. You will be involved in:
- Provision of software build and test solutions catering to different market segments such as Mobile, Server, IoT, and Automotive
- Lifecycle management of core project infrastructure, from design through to deployment, maintenance, and performance optimization
- Continuous improvement of workflow quality, security, and efficiency
- Customer support, providing timely analysis and resolution of issues, requirements analysis, and task breakdown
- Communication & collaboration with engineering IT, software development teams, and the open-source community
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be flexible and have a variety of software development skills. They will have a dedication to enhancing their existing DevOps knowledge and supporting the Engineering platform.

DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure: Demonstrable experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering role, with hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and private cloud/on-premises infrastructure.
Platform & Infrastructure Operations: Experience running Linux-based infrastructure, physical or virtual systems (servers, development boards, embedded platforms), and remote management technologies such as BMCs, serial consoles, and network booting.
Containerisation & Virtualisation: Hands-on experience deploying and operating container and virtualization platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, Rancher, Harvester, or similar technologies.
Automation & CI/CD: Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, together with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins and/or GitLab.
Programming & Scripting: Good proficiency in Python, Bash, Shell scripting, or a similar language, with the ability to automate operational tasks and develop infrastructure tooling.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience
- Practical knowledge of GitOps solutions such as ArgoCD, Flux, or Fleet
- Implementation of the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) in infrastructure
- Monitoring and observability using Prometheus and Grafana, ELK stack, or equivalent
- Use of Kubernetes management systems such as Rancher
- Familiarity with open-source project development cycles and contribution processes, particularly around CI/CD infrastructure

Salary Range
£73,500 - £99,500 per year
