Harrods Senior DevOps Engineer
Harrods is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support our Digital Technology Team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the support and overall service of all production and non-production applications and environments across our e-commerce & digital estate. Working as part of the DevOps team, you will own and maintain the deployment pipelines, ensure operational excellence, and partner closely with development, the wider IT team, as well as third-party providers to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable digital services.
About the role
The Senior DevOps Engineer will balance hands-on operational responsibilities with strategic improvements, ensuring monitoring, security, and performance are embedded into every solution. You will mentor peers, promote best practices, and drive continuous optimisation across platforms and processes. At all times, you will need to ensure that monitoring, security, and any performance implications are considered and that the correct measures are put in place to detect problems at the earliest opportunity. You will also identify proactive measures that can enable the team to preventatively optimise and continuously improve the solutions.
There is a need to keep calm under pressure and work at a pace so that you can balance the operational elements of the role whilst looking ahead.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
