Senior Digital Communications Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Digital Communications Manager (Global Grade 12) to join our Communications and External Affairs team on a permanent basis. This role is central to shaping Elexon’s digital presence, ensuring our customers and stakeholders have an engaging, accessible and seamless experience across all of our digital channels.
You’ll play a key role in developing and delivering Elexon’s digital communications strategy, leading the evolution of our website, intranet and digital platforms to enhance customer engagement, strengthen our brand and support the delivery of our strategic objectives. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you’ll use data, insight and user experience best practice to create digital journeys that help support the transformation of Great Britain’s energy market on the path to Net Zero.
What you’ll do:
As Senior Digital Communications Manager, you’ll lead the development and delivery of Elexon’s digital communications strategy, ensuring our digital channels provide an outstanding experience for customers, stakeholders and colleagues.
- Develop and deliver Elexon’s digital communications strategy, ensuring our digital channels support organisational priorities and business objectives.
- Lead the evolution of our website, intranet, social media and digital platforms, driving continuous improvements in user experience, accessibility and performance.
- Own and optimise key digital channels, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, accessible and aligned with our brand and communications strategy.
- Lead the creation of high-quality digital content, including web articles, campaigns, social media, email communications and multimedia content.
- Use analytics and insight to measure performance, evaluate customer engagement and identify opportunities to improve digital communications and user journeys.
- Work closely with the Customer Experience team, Product Owners, Business Analysts and Developers to improve digital content, information architecture and customer journeys.
- Champion accessibility, usability and SEO best practice, ensuring digital channels meet recognised standards and provide an inclusive user experience.
- Develop customer personas, journey maps and content strategies that improve engagement and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leaders and external suppliers to deliver innovative digital communications solutions.
- Act as Elexon’s digital communications expert, advising senior stakeholders on emerging trends, technologies and opportunities to enhance our digital presence.

What you’ll bring:
We’re looking for an experienced digital communications professional who combines strategic thinking with creativity, strong stakeholder management and a passion for delivering exceptional digital experiences.
- Extensive experience developing and delivering digital communications strategies that improve engagement and customer experience.
- Proven experience managing websites, corporate intranets and digital communication channels within a complex organisation.
- A strong understanding of digital content strategy, SEO, accessibility, user experience (UX) and information architecture.
- Experience using Google Analytics and other digital insight tools to evaluate performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging content for a wide range of audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience advising senior leaders and building collaborative relationships.
- Experience leading digital campaigns and driving continuous improvement across multiple digital platforms.
- A strategic mindset, combined with excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable experience:
- Experience working within the energy sector, a technical organisation or membership body.
- Knowledge of WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite and Poppulo.
- An understanding of Great Britain’s electricity market, market reform programmes or wider industry developments.
- Experience designing customer journeys and applying user-centred design principles.
