About us

The Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy (SSPP) is one of the largest UK university communities for social research and education. The Digital Education team sits within the wider Faculty Education team and is a vital part of the Faculty's success, driving innovation in technology enhanced learning.

Join us in our mission to shape the future of education and empower students globally through innovative learning experiences.

About the role

This professional services role sits within the Faculty of Social Science and Public Policy’s Digital Education team. As a Senior Digital Education Officer, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) across the faculty, combining operational support for core digital education services with project delivery, stakeholder engagement, service development, and change initiatives. Working closely with King’s Central Digital Education Team and a wide range of academic and professional services colleagues, you will help deliver the faculty's digital education priorities and contribute to the continuous improvement of learning technologies and practices.

You will support the administration of King’s Moodle-based virtual learning environment (KEATS), coordinate annual VLE processes, and provide first- and second-line support for TEL tools and services. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving user issues, supporting the implementation of innovative digital learning solutions, and delivering training and guidance to staff and students as required.

A key aspect of the role is leading and supporting a varied portfolio of TEL projects and initiatives, ranging from short-term service improvements to longer-term strategic change programmes. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver change initiatives, manage competing priorities, provide technical expertise, and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure successful project outcomes.

Working in partnership with academic and professional services colleagues, you will help embed effective TEL practices into teaching, learning and assessment, contribute to the continuous improvement of digital education services, and support the delivery of faculty and institutional digital education priorities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for digital education, a commitment to continuous improvement, strong problem-solving skills, and a focus on delivering high-quality, customer-centred services aligned with institutional goals.

The role is based at Bush House on the King’s Strand Campus though you may be required to travel to other campuses on occasion. King’s Professional Services staff can work in a hybrid working pattern with working from home permitted for up to 40% of each week. Changes to this pattern may occur and are determined by operational requirements and departmental need.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
