Senior Digital Engineer BIM

As a Senior Digital Engineer - BIM at our Babcock Technology Centre or Birchwood, Warrington sites, you’ll play a crucial part in shaping the future of digital delivery across high-profile defence and nuclear engineering programmes.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Digital Engineer - BIM, you’ll:
- Influence national infrastructure by guiding how critical information, models, and data are optimally created, shared, and governed.
- Ensure engineering teams meet safety, efficiency, and digital standards.
- Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and digital engineering processes.
- Review and interpret client digital and BIM requirements, contributing to high-quality contract documentation.
- Guide multidisciplinary teams on digital standards, naming conventions, and workflows.
- Conduct model audits, clash detection, and design coordination – engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce and maintain guidance documentation, templates, and digital standards to enhance consistent project delivery.

Essential & Desirable Experience
Required Experience
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650 and digital information management processes.
- Experience developing BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and Information Delivery Plans (MIDP/TIDP).
- Skilled in digital workflows such as clash detection, design coordination, and data reviews (e.g., COBie, IFC).
- Knowledge of Common Data Environments (CDEs); preference for Asite experience.
- Experience in highly regulated environments (nuclear or defence preferred) with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Additional Requirements
- Must be a sole UK National and capable of obtaining/maintaining Security Check (SC) clearance.
Desirable Qualifications
- Any further digital engineering, BIM, or information management training/certification would be beneficial.
Security Clearance Requirement
The position mandates UK sole nationality and the ability to achieve/maintain Security Clearance (SC). Role restrictions may apply based on birthplace, nationality, or historical residency. Refer to UK Security Vetting Guidelines for further details.
