We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Digital Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing team, based in A&O Shearman's Belfast Office.

Marketing team - Belfast

The Digital Marketing Technology team implements and manages the firm's integrated marketing information systems and digital marketing communication channels. The digital channels include our public and client websites, podcasting and video hosting platforms, content libraries, and blogs. The team is responsible for the technologies that support core BD and marketing processes, including but not limited to experience collection, contact management, pitching and opportunity management, CV management, events, client segmentation and marketing analytics. These two broad areas of marketing technology activity support each other and overlap, helping to provide a 360° view of our interactions with a client.

The team is based in London, Belfast and Paris and is part of the global marketing, business development and communications function.

What you will do

The Senior Digital Assistant role primarily involves delivering business as usual support across the firm's key digital marketing channels and supporting on projects where new campaign and microsites need to be developed. Alongside this, the Senior Digital Assistant advises BD teams and Partners on best practice for digital marketing campaigns, advising on layout and content structure as well as providing in-depth analysis for campaigns post-launch across all platforms.

There is a strong focus on applying the firm's style and brand guidelines to website content, performing checks pre and post publishing and advising stakeholders on any necessary changes.

The working hours for this role are one week of 7:00am - 3:30pm UK time, one week of 10:30am - 7:00pm UK time, and two weeks of 9:00am - 5:30pm UK time.

We also require the senior digital assistant to step into workflow responsibilities when the primary workflow coordinators are not available.

  • Delivering business as usual support for the firm's global digital marketing channels.
  • Planning, advising (working with the wider marketing function), and executing digital marketing campaigns across the range of supported channels, providing best practice advice (including SEO) and assistance to the organization while adhering to the A&O Shearman brand.
  • Making content and taxonomy changes to web pages (ensuring pages are optimized for SEO) using the Sitecore platform, including but not limited to: posting and updating insights, news, and sector, practice, or location pages on public websites.
  • Running analytics reports across all platforms, analyzing performance, sharing insights, and actionable points with stakeholders for future campaigns.
  • Assisting on ad-hoc projects, providing updates to management on a regular basis.
  • Escalating issues across our systems to senior members of the team, as and when needed.
  • Supporting any system upgrades and enhancements to our platforms, ensuring they are correctly tested and implemented.
  • Performing administration duties across our workflow platform (monitoring of contact inboxes, answering calls, updating trackers).
  • Acting as a support desk and responding to digital queries from internal stakeholders.
  • Providing cover for the workflow coordinators when required.
  • Liaising with and supporting internal stakeholders, managing expectations in line with service agreements and A&O Shearman's strategic objectives.
  • Uploading video content and providing user support for the firm's digital video channel and linking content to aoshearman.com
  • Performing any other tasks and duties as may be required, commensurate with the level of the post.
  • Be actively upskilling and utilizing the firm's AI systems or day-to-day tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Be familiar and comfortable with the firm's brand and style guide, completing content reviews regularly and advising content owners on changes to copy to adhere to the brand.

  • Experience and understanding of Sitecore or other CMS is essential.
  • Strong editorial and grammatical skills.
  • A knowledge of digital and SEO/GEO techniques.
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills: able to multitask.
  • Enthusiastic, responsive, proactive, and innovative.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to confidently interact with all levels and across cultures.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues and delegate to technical colleagues or external providers as required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to quality check own work and understand and apply house style guidelines.
  • Team player.

Desirable

  • Experience working with content workflow/delegation and management systems.
  • HTML and CSS skills.
  • A general background of working with digital assets and web technologies such as websites and apps.
  • Strong experience of working with data and a good understanding of how information systems and processes work.
  • An ability to identify and troubleshoot issues and delegate to technical colleagues.
