Senior Digital Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Digital Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex digital and ICT projects across the organisation.

In this role, you will provide leadership, direction and expertise to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high-quality standard. You will work across infrastructure, systems, and business change initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to drive transformation and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of digital and technical projects across the full lifecycle, from business case through to implementation and handover.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks and dependencies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Provide strong leadership to multidisciplinary project teams and external suppliers.
  • Drive adoption of change and new technologies across the organisation.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, senior leaders, and partners.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage supplier relationships, procurement processes and contract negotiations.

Governance, Risk & Quality

  • Identify, assess and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to governance frameworks, standards and best practice (Agile/PRINCE2).
  • Oversee quality assurance, security, accessibility and compliance of systems.

Business Change & Innovation

  • Lead business analysis and process re-engineering activities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating requirements into effective solutions.

What We’re Looking For

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering complex digital/ICT projects in a large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of project methodologies (PRINCE2 Practitioner and/or Agile).
  • Experience managing full project lifecycles, budgets, teams and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT environments (e.g. Azure, Active Directory, integrations, M365, Power Platform).
  • Understanding of governance, information security and compliance requirements.

Skills

  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident communicator with strong report writing and presentation skills.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

Please note, we do not have a sponsorship licence to sponsor individuals for visas to work in the UK, therefore we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
