Business Development Department Overview

This is a powerhouse team of highly dedicated individuals focused on delivering best-in-class customer service to our clients. Key responsibilities:

  • Growing and sustaining business longevity across Phase I–IV studies.
  • Attracting new clients through relationship-building.
  • Strengthening ties with our current client base.

Your Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Outreach & Relationship Building:
    • Initiate sales calls to prospective new clients to establish business relationships.
    • Secure sponsors for contracts through strategic execution of sales tactics.

  • RFP/Information Response Coordination:

    • Conduct and manage coordinated responses to Requests for Proposals/Information.
  • Late-Phase Sales Growth:

    • Meet individual revenue objectives through proactive client communication and repositioning services to assigned clients in Phase II–IV.
    • Identify new lead contacts to expand Phase II-IV business opportunities.
  • Global Territory & Account Management:

    • Design and implement individual, territory-specific, and key account strategies focused on client growth and retention.
  • Trade Show Activities:

    • Plan and manage exhibition logistics, meetings, and hospitality arrangements.
    • Ensure cost-effective execution of trade show activities while delivering outstanding outcomes.
  • Professional Presentations & Meetings:

    • Lead and attend teleconferences, client meetings, capabilities meetings, and bid defence presentations to advance new opportunities.
    • Engage senior management in pivotal business discussions and high-stakes presentations regarding strategic accounts and major deal negotiations.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, displaying high degrees of professionalism.
  • Strong organisational capabilities; mastering prioritisation, delegation, and critical evaluation of tasks.
  • Outstanding presentation skills with capability to convincingly convey value of our services to stakeholders.
  • Relational intelligence: Highly effective interpersonal skills fostering a positive, constructive dialogue with clients and colleagues.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills to pursue mutually beneficial agreements.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Preferred Education: BA/BS in Business or Life Sciences; higher degrees like a Master’s or MBA are advantageous.
  • Mandatory Experience: 10+ years of clinical sales within CROs (Clinical Operations background preferred).
  • Technical Insight: In-depth understanding of drug development processes in the CRO context.
  • Bilingual Requirement: Fluency in both English and French (oral and written.)
  • Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and sales management software.

Flexibility & Travel Commitment

  • Willingness to actively engage across assigned geographic territories, domestical, and international travel requirements.
