The Role

This is a key contributor role responsible for leading Veeva’s European corporate events team.

The team consists of events professionals and third-party vendors planning and executing Veeva’s large-scale customer events and internal annual field kickoffs. The successful candidate must be able to partner effectively with business and marketing leaders while getting into the details to deliver exceptional events for the life sciences industry and the Veeva team.

What You’ll Do

Leading the corporate events team and working with cross-functional teams, you will lead planning and logistical support for Veeva’s major customer conferences, our internal field kickoff events, and other special program support. Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Hire, manage, and mentor a team of internal events professionals, external freelancers, fostering a culture of collaboration and ensuring extreme attention to detail and superior quality. Emphasis on developing and retaining talent
  • Lead the strategic planning and end-to-end execution of Veeva’s customer Summits and internal field kickoffs in Europe
  • Cultivate relationships with and manage third-party vendors including contract negotiation
  • Oversee budget management for events maximizing value and ensuring effective resourcing
  • Source and evaluate venues for future programs
  • Analyze events data to inform event strategies and improve the attendee journey for each audience and event
  • Manage and maintain processes, run-of-shows, and playbooks to support a growing events program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, strategy, product, etc.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience owning the management planning and on-site execution of 1,500+ attendee B2B customer events in a convention center setting
  • 3+ years’ experience managing an in-house events team, external agencies, and freelancers
  • Proven experience managing large budgets with attention to detail
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Proven excellence participating in cross-team program management
  • Experience collaborating to design space focused on the attendee journey
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-starter, proactive, and critical thinker
  • Ability to travel 10-15%
