Senior Director, Business Development – Pharma & Life Sciences (US Remote)
About the Role Konovo is a global healthcare intelligence company transforming research through technology, enabling faster, better, and connected insights through our largest network of 2+ million healthcare professionals.
With a workforce of over 200 employees across five countries, we collaborate to support some of medicine’s most influential organisations—serving 300+ global pharmaceutical, medical device, research, and consulting firms.
As we expand our US remote sales team into a product-driven platform, we’re taking this Senior Director, Business Development role to new heights. This is a high-visibility, high-impact opportunity where your ability to foster relationships, secure strategic deals, and shape the future of healthcare market insights will drive our growth.

Key Responsibilities

Grow your portfolio relentlessly – Own and expand your book of business by exceeding new client acquisition and account growth targets, ensuring both existing clients and new engagements thrive.

Deep client partnerships – Build long-term trust with senior stakeholders by leading Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities that align with our clients’ growth priorities.

Position Konovo as a thought leader – Deliver tailored insights that address client pain points by leveraging proprietary AI and market intelligence data, positioning us as the preferred strategic partner.

Drive proactive outreach – Engage high-value prospects through strategic networking, outbound campaigns, events, and digital pipelines to build a strong, high-performing funnel.

Navigate end-to-end sales cycles – Own deals from first engagement to signed contract, including lead qualification, proposal development, negotiations, and closes.

Collaborate for success – Partner closely with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Operations to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.

Data- and insight-driven forecasting – Deliver accurate pipeline forecasts, account plans, and performance updates to guide territory strategy and allocate resources effectively.

Stay ahead of industry trends – Monitor advancements in AI, data-driven healthcare market research, competitor positioning, and client needs to inform strategic outreach and product positioning.
What We’re Looking For

Enterprise sales mastery – 10+ years of complex B2B sales experience, with a track record of exceeding multi-million-dollar annual targets, securing both new acquisitions and account expansion.

Healthcare & life sciences expertise – Strong familiarity with pharma, biotech, medical devices, or SaaS/data solutions, ideally in market research, healthcare intelligence, or AI-powered insights.

Hunter-farmer mindset – Exceptional ability to prospect new accounts while also deepening and diversifying relationships within the existing client base.

Relationship-driven consultative sales – Adelept at building trust with influential stakeholders and co-selling customized strategies rooted in data-backed insights.

Commercial & strategic acumen – Expertise in negotiation, contracting, and deal structuring for large, high-value engagements.

Collaborative leadership – Proven success working across cross-functional teams to align product, messaging, and client needs.

Tech-savvy sales expertise – Proficient with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), and modern sales enablement platforms.

Travel flexibility – Ready to travel domestically (~25–40% of the time) for in-person meetings, industry events, and deeper engagements.
Bonus Considerations:
- Postgraduate degree (MBA, Life Sciences, or Business preferred)
- Prior experience in healthcare tech or AI-driven insights
