About The Role
As a Senior Director in the Financial Services team at FTI Consulting, you will be a client-facing professional, involved in projects and business development activities from the outset.
The Financial Services team supports financial institutions, regulators, governments and enforcement agencies across the full spectrum of financial regulation. Our service offerings include:
- Regulatory and business change programmes
- Governance and conduct matters
- Risk and regulatory advice
- Risk management frameworks
- Disputes and investigations
- Remediation programmes
We work alongside our multi-disciplinary colleagues located in every major financial centre around the globe, enabling us to tackle any challenge our clients face.
Work with experts who are:
- Industry and technology specialists
- Former policy makers, regulators and economists
- Forensic and communications specialists
What You’ll Do

Project Delivery Work as a core member of delivery teams, performing tasks such as:
- Leading project teams
- Acting as the day-to-day client point of contact
- Understanding and analysing issues
- Project management and stakeholder engagement
- Document reviews, client interviews, and process walk-throughs
- Developing solutions and drafting reports

Sales Lead and support in business development activities, which includes:
- Attending client sales meetings (often as part of a bid team)
- Drafting proposals for potential engagements
- Developing presentations for introductory pitch meetings
- Securing extensions on current engagements and using networks to generate sales opportunities

What You Will Need to Succeed
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation abilities
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders with high-quality standards
- Experience handling both senior management and non-UK head office relationships
Qualifications:
- Must-Haves
- Extensive experience interpreting and advising stakeholders (including non-UK clients) on:
- UK regulatory perimeter and financial crime regulations (e.g., POCA, MLR 17)
- Comprehensive understanding of:
- UK financial services regulatory framework (e.g., FCA Handbook COBS, SYSC, PROD, FSMA, Consumer Duty, SM&CR, MiFID II/MiFIR), and market abuse legislation
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining risk management and compliance frameworks, including:
- Remediation programs, policies, procedures, governance structures, and monitoring plans
- Experience authoring FCA authorisation applications, FSMA section 165 requests, and section 166 skilled person reviews
- Significant experience in designing, developing, and maintaining regulatory frameworks, including training materials and monitoring processes (e.g., gap analysis, compliance assurance, management information reports)
- Ability to lead large-scale transformation projects and compliance initiatives
- Proven ability to draft and communicate detailed reports and recommendations highlighting compliance gaps
- Extensive experience interpreting and advising stakeholders (including non-UK clients) on:
- Experience in regulatory training to both specialist and non-specialist audiences
- In business development (e.g., thought leadership, proposal development, recruitment)

Degree level or equivalent experience required

Minimum several years of experience in the financial services sector and advising on UK financial services regulation, either within a regulated institution, regulatory body, consultancy, or as a legal professional

Preferred Strong awareness of global compliance requirements; experience with EU (ESMA) and US (SEC, CFTC) regulations.
