(Senior) Director – Global Medical Affairs

About the Role
The (Senior) Director, Global Medical Affairs is a senior individual contributor and strategic leader responsible for major medical workstreams, key strategic pillars, or important components of an oncology asset strategy. This role:
- Shapes medical direction within its scope
- Leads matrix collaboration
- Frequently represents Medical Affairs in cross-functional discussions (Note: This role does not serve as the formal leader of the MAT in this architecture.)
Your Contribution
As the Director, Global Medical Affairs, you will:
- Lead major workstreams or strategic pillars within oncology, including indication or disease-area strategies.
- Translate scientific and clinical data into strategic recommendations, medical priorities, and differentiated scientific positioning.
- Define or co-lead evidence generation priorities for areas such as:
- Scientific communications
- Insight generation
- Publications
- HEOR integration
- Launch-related medical planning
- Represent Medical Affairs in cross-functional forums and drive Alignment Across Key Stakeholders.
- Support the development and refinement of medical plans and key scientific narratives.
- Partner closely with:
- Clinical Development
- Global Product Strategy (GPS)
- Scientific Communications
- Publications
- HEOR (Health Economics & Outcomes Research)
- Country/regional medical teams
- Coach junior colleagues and contribute to functional capability building.

A Good Match
Education & Qualifications
- Required: MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent clinical/scientific qualification.
- Oncology Expertise: Mandatory for Senior/Executive levels; expected for Associate roles.
- Additional leadership training or broad cross-functional experience deemed advantageous.
Experience
- Significant oncology experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or a strategic medical role within pharma or biotech.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Lead complex workstreams
- Influence matrix stakeholders
- Experience in global or regional matrix organizations.

Travel Requirements
Moderate to significant travel required for:
- Cross-functional meetings
- Congresses & scientific engagements
Your Benefits & Remuneration
(pay ranges are for the US; variations apply at other locations and depend on factors such as education, experience, and role responsibilities)
Base Salary Expectations
- Director: $168,100/year – $268,700/year
- Senior Director: $198,900/year – $318,300/year
Total Reward Package includes:
- Base salary
- Annual bonus (performance-linked)
- Equity (performance-dependent)
