The Team

We would like to invite you to join Alvarez & Marsal’s dynamic Transaction Advisory Group (TAG). Our TAG team have established Alvarez & Marsal as one of the leading providers of financial due diligence globally and the leading firm to develop a fulfilling career in Transaction Advisory. Our award-winning practice includes over 1,200 professionals in over 40 offices across the United States, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, India and Asia Pacific. We work for premium clients on a selection of deals sector wide.

A&M provides investors and lenders with the answers needed to get the deal done. We combine our firm’s deep operational, industry and functional resources with quality financial accounting and tax expertise to assess key deal drivers and focus on the root cause of any critical deal issues. The largest Transaction Advisory practice outside the Big Four, our global integrated teams help private equity and corporate acquirers unlock value across the investment cycle.

How You Will Contribute

We are growing and continue to expand our established UK teams in London, Birmingham & Manchester. We are looking to hire a Senior Director with experience in Transaction Advisory and who can support our Managing Directors and wider teams and can deliver on UK and pan European projects to our clients.

As part of our highly skilled team, the successful individual will:

  • Lead teams and deliver complex Transaction Advisory engagements, working closely with our Managing Directors
  • Evaluate potential transactions in the context of a clients’ investment strategy, assist with financial due diligence & help to identify key risks and potential deal breakers, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the business against industry benchmarks
  • Gain broad industry exposure working with a variety of large-cap and mid-cap PE houses, corporate clients and financial institutions
  • Have the opportunity to use the commercial aspects of your financial analysis skills, as well as being given exposure to the key drivers and valuation considerations which drive a transaction
  • Work closely with operational and commercial professionals in combined project teams enhancing your understanding of the broader due diligence and wider deal process
  • Coach & develop more junior colleagues
  • Internally network with our other service lines and work on external marketing events to build your network internally & externally

Our base salaries are highly competitive and bonuses are un-capped. Employees are rewarded for their contribution to growing both TAG and the broader business.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant and/or an exceptional academic record
  • Proven senior‑level experience in Transaction Advisory, with 7+ years of hands‑on Financial Due Diligence expertise is essential in addition to experience across Private Equity and/ or blue-chip Corporates
  • Trained at a Big 4 firm or an established Transaction Advisory (Transaction Services) practice
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional European language skills including French, German, Dutch, Swedish, Italian or Spanish are highly desirable
