Senior Director, Head of Field Reimbursement
Job Summary
The Senior Director, Head of Field Reimbursement, oversees teams that ensure patients can access their medications by removing potential reimbursement obstacles. This role acts as a bridge between Sun Pharma, its payers, and healthcare providers (HCPs). This role provides leadership and management oversight of multiple Field Reimbursement teams across the Innovative Medicines product portfolios. The candidate will work closely with many other cross-functional teams to drive patient care model performance, drive business objectives, and sits on the senior leadership team for the Market Access function.
The Senior Director, Head of Field Reimbursement is a commercial leader with multiple Direct & Indirect Reports including Regional Business Directors and front-line Field Reimbursement Managers within the reporting structure. This individual will be a critical partner with both internal and external Reimbursement Hubs and the internal Patient Access field team.
The ideal candidate will have multiple experiences leading teams to achieve organizational goals, focusing on product access in competitive markets within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
Location
This is a field-based role located in the United States and requires up to 50% travel per month.
Responsibilities
- Lead and guide teams for seamless execution of patient and HCP access interactions, ensuring alignment with field reimbursement teams
- Coach and develop Director & Manager-level Department members in collaboration with Sales training teams and vendor partners, establishing skill-set training programs specific to roles
- Monitor FRM territory efficiencies to optimize each FRM’s productivity, working with Commercial Operations to adjust or realign territories as needed
- Drive strategic alignment and collaboration between Patient Access Support and cross-functional market access stakeholders to understand access trends and enhance execution
- Monitor market trends to shape strategies for patient access, collaborating with internal stakeholders (including marketing & sales) to overcome reimbursement barriers while developing strategic solutions with Business Unit Heads to ensure consistent patient access to therapies
- Ensure smooth connectivity between field reimbursement teams and internal/external hubs, advising on program feasibility
- Develop and execute strategies, tactics, and training for a field-based organization, partnering with legal & compliance to ensure program adherence to new laws and regulations
- Lead without authority to generate momentum across multiple therapies as a matrix leader
- Demonstrate high performance and the ability to lead through others to achieve desired organizational outcomes
- Partner with legal & compliance departments to ensure all field activities adhere to regulations
- Oversee efforts to educate HCPs and their corresponding staff on payer policies, Specialty Pharmacies, and in-office dispensing

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field
- MBA preferred, but not required
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, or other related experience
- 10+ years of experience leading field-based teams at various levels (including field leaders and leaders of leaders)
- 7+ years in reimbursement coverage, coding, or market access
Proficiency & Competencies
- Proficiency in access and reimbursement, or learning agility to understand coverage, coding, payment, distribution, and reimbursement regulations
- Understanding of reimbursement policies related to Buy-and-Bill and Biologics preferred
- Experience across one or more therapeutic categories including Dermatology, Immunology, Oncology, and Ophthalmology preferred

Compensation & Benefits
Base Compensation
The anticipated base compensation is in the range of $232,500 to $284,000, though actual pay may vary based on factors such as location and experience.
Performance Incentives
Eligible to participate in the company’s Annual Performance Bonus Plan.
