Senior Director of Field Planning & Activation


Role Overview Shape the future of Acosta Europe’s syndicated field operations in a thrilling role focused on strategy, planning, and execution. You’ll design, optimise, and evolve how three thousand syndicated field agents deploy across complex multi-client, multi-channel environments to drive impactful growth.


Key Details

  • Salary: £90,000 (ございた る, depends on experience)
  • Additional Benefits:
    • £6,000 annual car allowance
    • 15% Annual Bonus Opportunity
  • Location: Stoke-on-Trent (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote from Stoke or Woking)
  • Contract: Permanent Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Strategic Leadership

  • Define the vision for field team planning, deployment, and operations across multi-faceted environments.
  • Constantly assess and evolve Acosta’s operating model to meet scalability, efficiency, and commercial needs.
  • Lead transformative change initiatives, driving insights-driven strategy for improved outcomes.

Planning, Performance & Commercial Impact

  • Own the planning framework for field activity, ensuring target alignment with maximum commercial return.
  • Implement clear, actionable performance metrics, aligning operations with growth objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial/ client teams to balance strategy, prioritisation, and scalability.

Execution & Operational Disciplines

  • Hold full accountability for delivery quality, standards, and consistency across groceries, convenience, wholesale, and LSLR (Licensed Sector).
  • Harness surge capacity to meet heightened demand from clients and channel partners.
  • Reinforce planning accuracy and execution discipline, using data to sharpen business outcomes.

Leadership & Capability

  • Lead a high-impacting executive team, driving ownership and performance accountability.
  • Identify and develop capabilities across planning and field teams, creating a scalable model for rapid response.
  • Foster a culture of ownership and collaboration, centred around results-driven delivery.

About You

We seek a commercially astute, results-focused leader, fluent in complexity, decision-making, and transformation. You will:

  • Have significant leadership experience in planning, operations, field strategy, or commercial roles, with direct accountability for scale.
  • Strong commercial judgement, adept at weighing trade-offs between priority, investment, and resources.
  • FMCG/retail exposure, with a track record of thriving in dynamic demand environments.
  • Demonstrated success in improving performance through disciplined planning, execution rigor, and focused resource management.
  • Ability to navigate matrixed organisational structures, influencing decision-makers and balancing competing stakes.
  • Commitment to building high-performing teams, developing leadership pipelines, and embedding an ownership culture.
