The Opportunity
We are entering a phase of growth and seek a Senior Director to shape OVID’s next chapter—both for our clients and our team.
We are looking for a ** visionary leader** who embodies credibility, values and commercial drive. This role is for someone who thrives in complex environments, excels at strategic leadership and is eager to build, lead, and leave a legacy—on clients, the team, and OVID’s future.
About You: Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Client Delivery
- Serve as a trusted advisor at board-level for major clients, advising on high-stakes decisions and growth strategies.
- Lead integrated programmes for global pharmaceutical clients, ensuring impactful public affairs & advocacy campaigns.
- Navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems, including policymakers, regulators and industry leaders.
- Translate business challenges into winning strategies, driving tangible outcomes for clients and OVID.

Business Growth & Network Development
- Originate and convert opportunities into long-term client partnerships, with a proven ability to win new business and grow accounts organically.
- Leverage a robust network across UK and international policy, healthcare and life sciences to fuel growth.
- Foster client relationships while advancing OVID’s commercial success, ensuring revenue growth and profitability.
Team Development & Culture
- Lead with OVID’s core values: collaborative, trusted, and kind.
- Develop high-performing teams, mentoring colleagues and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Participate in company-wide initiatives, contributing to strategic direction, policy and business development.
Global & Multifaceted Expertise
- Deep UK and international public affairs experience, with credibility to represent OVID in high-level engagements.
- Trustworthiness in advocating for pharmaceutical clients, aligning with global marker assurance.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking, capable of distilling complex issues into clear, actionable strategies.

Essential Requirements
✅ Alignment with OVID’s values and commitment to innovation and positive impact.
✅ Proven track record in:
- Leading public affairs projects with UK and international stakeholders (especially in pharma/life sciences).
- Managing global client accounts, including multi-region public affairs campaigns.
- Winning and growing business, converting opportunities into high-value partnerships.
- Strategic conversion of complex challenges into client-centric solutions.
✅ Network & commercial mindset:
- Widespread connections in healthcare policy, pharma and life sciences.
- Hands-on commercial acumen, understanding revenue drivers, resourcing and account profitability.
✅ Management & team leadership:
- Experience leading teams, developing talent and leading in high-pressure environments.
- Passion for collaborative growth, contributing beyond client work to strengthen OVID’s overall strategy.
