Senior Director – Electrical, Automation, Safety & Nautical (EASN)
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director – EASN to provide senior technical leadership and serve as Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding’s recognised technical authority across electrical, automation, safety and nautical (EASN) disciplines within newbuild programmes, as well as supporting existing fleet operations.
CCS (Carnival Corporation’s internal shipbuilding and in-service support department) manages acquisitions and maintenance for eight global brands across their 90+ ships. We operate in an agile, project-based environment, fostering empowered teams organised into Chapters of specialists focused on talent development, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving.

Role Overview
This role demands end-to-end technical accountability for electrical power generation and distribution, automation control systems, safety, and nautical systems, shaping vessel design from conception through construction, commissioning, and post-service support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing senior technical leadership and final escalation authority for EASN disciplines
- Ensuring technical governance and integrity through supplier selection, system concept, and design development
- Delivering full lifecycle technical oversight, from contract definition to construction, commissioning, and delivery
- Representing CCS as the senior technical authority with shipyards, suppliers, consultants, class societies, and regulators
- Driving risk management, innovation, standardisation, and continuous improvement across newbuild programmes
- Mentoring technical leaders within the EASN Chapter through delegation and accountability frameworks
- Acting as a technical ambassador, fostering relationships across brands and external stakeholders

Requirements
Experience & Background
We seek candidates with:
- Senior technical leadership in engineering—preferably within shipbuilding, marine, offshore, or related industries—with accountability for cross-project technical outcomes
- Proven track record as a technical authority, resolving high-risk issues and influencing design specifications and delivery timelines
- Experience leading technical strategies and technology roadmaps, previously influencing ** enterprise-wide technology citizens**
- Proficiency in matrix-driven organisations with interdisciplinary collaboration across brands, vendors, and operations teams
- Demonstrable success in mentoring and scaling technical capability
