About the Role
Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Document Controller to work in our Applied Engineering team based in our Warrington office, supporting large infrastructure projects.
Our team represent a multi-disciplined range of engineering skills, adding value across all our sectors, and pushing the boundaries of digital construction, engineering innovation and design to deliver intelligent, sustainable and economical engineering solutions.
Under the banner of Murphy Applied Engineering, our in-house teams include civil, structural, mechanical, geotechnical and process engineers. They design both permanent and temporary works for projects in all our locations and are a trusted source of expert advice for both Murphy colleagues and external customers.
A Day in the Life of a Murphy Senior Document Controller
- Create and maintain document registers as required.
- Assist in the creation and maintain distribution lists / workflows / review cycles.
- Maintain professional working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Motivate, inspire, praise and challenge direct reports as appropriate.
- Assist in the collation and issue of handover documentation (O&M manuals, H&S files, as-built records, databooks, completion packs etc.)
- Manage the site scanning of documents and records, ensure legibility and traceability.
- Assist in providing information for the DC improvement plan.
- Ensure optimum performance of DC team for the portfolio of work, undertaking reviews for gains in efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure document control is the focal point for all construction documentation and is managed in a controlled manner.
- Ensure document control requirements are administered as per contract requirements and within agreed timescales.
- Ensure only approved, current documentation is available for use by all relevant parties at the point of use.
- Ensure Obsolete/Superseded/Withdrawn documents are kept by DC for reference or other purposes. Ensure they are clearly identified and/or stored separately. Ensure other holders of Obsolete/Superseded/Withdrawn documents are deleted/destroyed or marked as 'Superseded' and removed from possible use. Carry out periodic checks to ensure compliance.
- Manage the CDE (F Drive/Aconex and/or Client CDE). Create workflow reports as required. Ensure information stored on Client's CDEs is permanently available or transferred to the JMS CDE prior to contract completion.
