Location
Bristol, Swansea, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham (Chadderton), Birmingham (Garretts Green) or Uxbridge.
You can be based at any of the above locations, however if your chosen location is Yeading/Uxbridge please note:
This role is advertised as being based in Uxbridge; however, the contractual base will be Yeading.
While estate works are being carried out at the Yeading site, all roles will be temporarily located in Uxbridge. Successful applicants will therefore begin their employment at the Uxbridge location.
Please be aware that all employees will be required to work from the Yeading site once it reopens in 2028.
Employees based at Uxbridge will receive a London Weighting allowance of £4,000. This allowance will continue when the location moves to Yeading.

Are you experienced in software development and delivery within Microsoft Dynamics, utilising Dynamics 365 or Power Platform?

As a Senior Developer for Dynamics, you will be integral to establishing new Microsoft Dynamics capability within the team, supporting and developing current and future applications.
Microsoft Dynamics is a key part of our technical roadmap. We are building an in-house team to insource the support and development of externally built applications, while creating the capability to deliver new solutions internally.
You'll have the opportunity to join the team at its inception, helping shape its structure, training programmes and strategic direction. Our applications support essential DVSA services, including theory test bookings, roadside enforcement encounters and annual vehicle tests.
You will be part of our expanding Application Development team, which develops and maintains mission-critical applications for DVSA.

Job Description
As a Senior Dynamics Developer, you will be designing, building, and testing software that makes a real difference to our frontline staff and helps improve road safety.
You will work collaboratively with external suppliers and DVSA stakeholders and to ensure the support and delivery of defined solutions.
You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team using Agile delivery methodologies, delivering solutions focused on user needs.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Aren’t Limited To
- Have proven experience of software development, with a detailed knowledge Microsoft Dynamics.
- Lead and inspire team members, providing guidance and support to staff, enabling them to effectively deliver on objectives.
- Lead the development of value-driven services to fulfil customer needs, guiding app teams in building solutions.
- Act as a recognised subject matter expert, offering guidance in the resolution of live issues.
- Work to modern development standards, practices and techniques to develop solutions that put the user and user experience first.
- Design and configure Universal Resource Scheduling (URS), including bookable resources, characteristics, requirements, calendars and scheduling constraints.
- Implement and optimise Resource Scheduling Optimisation (RSO) to support automated scheduling scenarios such as route optimisation, capacity planning and prioritisation.

Person specification
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
- Experience working with technical teams to deliver user-focused services in an agile environment
- Experience of coaching and mentoring software developers / test engineers to develop their skills
- Strong applied knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CE and Field Service including an in-depth understanding of its capabilities, boundaries, and constraints and experience with URS and RSO.
- Development experience using some of the following: C#,.net, Dynamics Plugin, Power Fx, Model/Canvas Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 CE, Filed Service Powershell, ALM Pipeline, Azure DevOps, Dataverse
