Job Introduction
🌿 Senior Ecologist – Help Us Give Nature a Voice
Are you the kind of person who can tell a meadow from a mitigation opportunity, spot a bat roost before anyone else notices, and get genuinely excited about a really good habitat map?
We’re looking for a Senior Ecologist to join our growing Ecology Team at Lucion — a team of people who believe that protecting nature isn’t just a job, it’s a mission.
At Lucion, we shine a light on environmental challenges and take action. We work with clients across a range of sectors to create safer, more sustainable places for people and the planet. Our work helps balance development with conservation, ensuring wildlife has a future alongside ours.
🦉 What you’ll be doing
No two days will look the same. You could be:
🌱 Leading ecological surveys and guiding projects from the first site visit to final report.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
